About This Blog

This blog page began as a communication tool between students in my master's cohort when our blackboard page was taken down but we weren't finished with our discussions. It has, since, evolved into my personal blog page where I share my thoughts on current events, social media, technology, education, and other topics that move me to write about them. Feel free to browse and leave comments. Welcome! Photo by David Schrock

Peace

At a time where there is supposed to be great love in the world, it seems hard to embrace that spirit when so many people are faced with such hardship right now. The economic crisis has caused a blanket of despair to fall over the spirits of the people around me and in our country. I think it is in times like these, that the mission of organizations like TED are most important, because they hold not only messages of amazing intellectual accomplishment, but also, and more importantly, they inspire hope and peace. I think this Christmas many around me are struggling to see light in their lives and I only hope that they will persevere until they can. Many around me are jobless, or are no longer able to make money in their jobs, and others have been told just last week that they will not have work in the new year. I feel deeply for my friends and family who are suffering. Economic stress leads to emotional stress, which effects entire families. I hope that all of those those in crisis and their children will know peace and love, and for my own family, I sent this as a small message of hope. Please listen and share with those around you who may need a positive message in their lives.
